At ProURLMonitor, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website, our SEO tools and the ProURLMonitor Auditor Chrome extension.

ProURLMonitor Auditor Chrome Extension

This section explains what the ProURLMonitor Auditor extension for Chrome does with your data. The extension only acts when you click one of its buttons. It does not run on the sites you visit in the background.

The page you are viewing

  • The extension accesses the active tab only when you start an audit or a screenshot. It does not read your other tabs, and it does not track or collect your browsing history.
  • Screenshots and PDFs that you download are created in your browser and saved to your computer. They are not sent to us.
  • When you run an SEO audit, the extension sends us the page address and the details it checks (the title, meta description, headings, canonical tag, language, robots and viewport tags, and image and link counts), together with a full-page screenshot of the page. Our server requests the page address once to check its HTTP status. The audit is then saved to your account as a report.

Screen, microphone and camera

  • The extension uses your screen, microphone or camera only after you start a recording, and only the sources you choose. Chrome asks for your permission first.
  • When you stop a recording, the video is uploaded to your account, together with the address and title of the tab you started it from. You can also download a copy of the video to your computer.
  • Each recording is either unlisted, so anyone with its link can watch it, or private, so only you can watch it while signed in. You choose this before recording and can change it in your dashboard.

When data is uploaded and where it is stored

Nothing is uploaded until you run an audit or make a recording. Screenshots you only download stay on your computer. Audit screenshots and recordings are stored as private files with Vercel Blob storage on our Vercel account and are served only through ProURLMonitor. Reports and recording details, such as titles, page addresses and visibility, are stored in our database. You can delete an audit or a recording from your dashboard at any time, which also deletes its stored file.

Your account

Audits and recordings require a ProURLMonitor account. You sign in on our website, and the extension keeps a sign-in token in Chrome's extension storage so it can save reports and recordings to your account. We use your email address and login only to authenticate you and to show you your saved audits and recordings. Signing out of the extension removes the token.

What we do not do

  • We do not track your browsing history or read pages in the background.
  • We do not sell your data, or share it with third parties for advertising.
  • We use your screenshots, audits and recordings only to provide these features to you.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our website and store certain information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Object to processing of your personal information
  • Withdraw consent at any time
